Sandbox
Finding Solutions Through Collaborative Design Thinking
A Sandbox is a place to play and get your hands dirty through interactive, expansive design thinking. It is a collaborative exercise with Advent and your stakeholders to identify what you want audiences to THINK, FEEL, REMEMBER, and DO as part of the experience. A Sandbox fosters deep collaboration, blue sky thinking, and innovative problem solving. While a Sandbox is optional, it is an opportunity for your team to gain alignment before approaching the Create stage of our process.
CASE STUDY
The Sandbox session was crucial in designing the PGA of America’s new home by defining key challenges and aligning objectives. Through interactive exercises like Brand Experience Sliders, Advent and PGA leaders decided whether the space should feel more serious or playful, static or interactive, historical or modern. Through the “Headlines” activity, they envisioned how the project would be perceived after the grand opening. These collaborative activities clarified what PGA members and visitors should THINK, FEEL, REMEMBER, and DO within the space. By focusing on the needs of the 28,000 PGA professionals, the Sandbox ensured a dynamic design that fosters lifelong education and growth for future generations.
